Freedom to Be Me

The greatest benefit from my search for purpose – the FREEDOM TO BE ME!

The “world” requires a lot from us.  And, I don’t know about you, but I’ve spent a lot of years trying  to mold myself into the person I thought the world expected. …to wear  the mask that fit the occasion.  But, somewhere, deep down…I always felt  I was loosing a bit of myself in the process.

I’ m not talking about the need to be politically correct…or the need to exhibit kindness and consideration toward others.  That’s just exercising good manners.

But what I am talking about is having to operate in a world that requires you to compromise your gifts  and sacrifice the things you value most.  Like my years of  struggle trying to be a successful career woman, a good wife and super Mom.   I grew up with the idea that I could do it all…and not simply that I could…but that I should.  As I tried to make it all work…I found the art of balance was almost impossible.  And even as I  gave my all…I never felt like any part of may life ever really got my all.    Lots of people say…just give yourself a break…but that’s not the point for me…

It was about being convinced that I needed to get on the treadmill of life and do what the world expected.  It was my duty….or I was letting myself down…letting other woman down…letting my parents down…you know…all those expectations we  “allow” into our lives.  It wasn’t until I hit my 40’s that I began the process of figuring out where expectations left off…and the real me began.

Trust me it is a journey.  So, for today, I want to leave you with this thought – true life is about finding YOUR place in this world… a place that only you can fill. Don’t  stay so busy trying to be and do what others expect that you miss what God has planed.

On the other side of the journey to finding  yourself is FREEDOM

I seeks to help others discover their purpose and find a message of hope through Identity and Destiny. God is allowing me to use all of my story – even the trials and pain. The kind of hope that can only come from finding a way to walk victoriously through the hard places in life. And what I have learned is this…if you will allow Him…God wants to use YOU to help others – not in spite of your past – but because of it!!!

Hi Pam… I am enjoying your site and your thoughts! These ideas are almost too big for my brain… trying to sort through what is expectation and what or who I am ‘suppose’ to be. It is an awesome idea that I can get to that place of KNOWING those answers and feeling that freedom. I look forward to reading more and exploring if I really can get to that place of peace. Have a wonderful Christmas!

    Thanks Tracy!
I can assure you -peace is possible.
But as with all things deep and meaningful… it’s a journey…and it is a daily choice we make.
Stay in the conversation and let’s begin to unpack the question…who am I?
My next blog post is going to be on that very subject…check it out later this week and let me know…WHO ARE YOU?
So often we answer that by telling people what we do…but that’s not the answer to that particular question…
Give this some thought…let me know???
